We were honored to pay tribute to U.S. Commander (Retired USN) Robert Andrew Valko’s Memorial Service. A private and closed Military Memorial Ceremony to Honor his commendable Service will be held at The Miramar National Cemetery, San Diego, CA.
He proudly and honorably served in the U.S. Navy as a senior chaplain with duty assignments with the U.S. NAVY and USMC which included travels around the world to such locations as: WESTPAC, Philippines, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, Macau, Diego Garcia, Arctic, and military bases located on the east and west coasts within the continental U.S.
He also worked many years for the San Diego Padres and the San Diego Chargers, making friends along the way. Robert had also proudly been a part of the LIONS Club organization and staunch supporter of that organization’s benevolent reach to the community over the years as well. After his love for God, his wife and then country – Robert enjoyed watching sports. This included his hobbies of tracking team statistics and following players and coaches over the years. He was an avid fan of the Steelers, Chargers, Padres, Pirates, San Diego State University.
Robert will be missed by those who were honored to have known him. Some people were even blessed to have called this man family in this life; yet all who came into contact with him were lucky to be able to have called him a friend. Although Robert has now been called home to Heaven, we celebrate his legacy as he is loved and revered in memory as a noble and forthright man who had a good heart for God’s work and God’s people. Robert will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Thank you for your service to our country.
